I love reading books very much. One day, I read an interesting book about plants. In the book, it talked a lot about cacti that live in the desert.
Cacti in the desert have a really special way of living. The desert is a very harsh place. It's extremely hot during the day and can get very cold at night. There is also very little water. However, cacti are amazing. They have thick and fleshy stems. These stems can store a lot of water. So when there is a little rain, they can quickly absorb and save the water for a long time. Their leaves have turned into spines. These spines help to protect them from animals that might want to eat them. Also, the spines can reduce the loss of water.
I was so interested about cacti that I bought a small cactus for my room. My little cactus is very lovely. It has a round body and is covered with spines. Its body and the spines are all green. I put it in a flowerpot on the windowsill. I don't need to water it often, just a little water every few weeks is enough. It just sits there quietly, but it makes my room look more lively.
When I see my small cactus, I often think about the cacti in the book. I like cacti so much.
